In the scope of the issues conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Thursday's cabinet meeting made a decision to establish the Department of Vocational Education and Training (DVET)--an implementing agency of the Mongolian government.
The DVET will be responsible for organizing implementation works of the law on vocational education and training; implementing near and prospective plans, rules, regulations, concept, basic guidelines, programs and projects on vocational and technical educational development; determining and planning approaches of vocational and technical educational development; drawing conclusions on setting up as well as changing, stopping and liquidating private and state-owned vocational education and training centers; cooperating with state organizations and NGOs in researching and propagandizing demand and supply of labor market; valuing and examining vocational skills and organizing professional examinations; and creating and conducting statistics and data on vocational education and training.
